Links: Linux in Amateur Radio

This page contains links to selected Web resources I have found to be informative and useful for using Linux in Amateur Radio. Web sites get revised and even disappear, so if you find any dead links, please let me know by sending a message to my call sign at arrl.net.

HOWTOs

Installing N0NBH Solar-Terrestrial Data panel on the Linux desktop. This is the panel you see on many Amateur Radio Web sites. The first thing I see each time I log into my computer is the current solar conditions – very nice!

Raspberry Pi for Ham Radio. Detailed instructions for beginners on setting up and using an RTL-SDR USB device with a Raspberry Pi.

Sites

OH8STN has a site that emphasizes off-grid and emergency operations. He uses Linux as much as possible. His excellent Raspberry Pi HOWTO articles and videos cover a wide range of topics. I found this video on a packable station built around the Pi to be particularly informative.

WA9ONY has lots of good stuff on using the Raspberry Pi in Amateur Radio, as well as on SDR and GNU Radio Companion, on his Web site and on YouTube. David is a regular on our Linux User Net.
